A sculpture celebrating 100 years of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals is now being shared with hundreds of thousands of visitors through a special installation at the Australian War Memorial.
Located in the Main Entrance Foyer until December, the Certa City Centenary Cube celebrates the Corps’ enduring contribution to communications, information systems, cyber operations and electronic warfare.
The installation extends the legacy of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals Centenary Sculpture unveiled at Simpson Barracks in November 2025. Sponsored by PentenAmio and developed through a unique collaboration between serving personnel, veterans and family members, the sculptures were created by local artist, Dr Richard Barrett, to commemorate a century of Signals service to Australia.
PentenAmio Group CEO, Sarah Bailey, welcomed the public facing installation.
“The Royal Australian Corps of Signals has played a critical role in Australia’s defence for 100 years. We are proud to have supported a project that recognises the people, service and innovation behind that legacy, and grateful that the Australian War Memorial has provided an opportunity for even more Australians to engage with their story.”
The design incorporates a number of Signals traditions and symbols, including the Corps badge, references to communications and electronic warfare, Morse code acknowledging the Corps’ origins within the Royal Australian Engineers, and a poppy motif honouring Signals personnel who have died in service.
Expected to be viewed by approximately 300,000 visitors during its display, the Certa Cito Centenary Cube provides a lasting reminder of the Corps’ enduring contribution to Australia’s defence and national security.
